My favorites

I plan to show some of my favorite books, movies, music, and other such items on this page. Look for updates regularly!

I recently finished reading the book Sweet Sanctuary by Kim Vogel Sawyer.
It's amazing!

 



 

I'm not sure how to tell you about it with out giving it away, so, if you don't want to just take my word for it and read it, you can go to the author's website and read the review there. :)

I also recently read the book Between Sundays by Karen Kingsbury. In some ways it is similar to Sweet Sanctuary, which is probably why I like them so much:)

One of my all time favorites is The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare. I found it on the shelf one day. It was one of my mom's books. It's been on my shelf ever since.

This book has been my favorite for YEARS!! Our Only May Amelia by Jennifer L. Holm.

 

 

I can't decide which book by this author is my favorite. I don't normally reread a book, and if I do, it's because I extremely liked it, and I forget parts of it. All three of these books, I reread a day or so after I read it the first time. Ladies and gentlemen, (drumroll please) the author is... Melanie Dickerson.

 

 

The book are The Healer's Apprentice, The Merchant's Daughter, The Fairest Beauty, and The Captive Maiden. The Merchant's Daughter is a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast, and doesn't have the same characters as the other three, so it doesn't really go with the rest. The Healer's Apprentice comes first, then The Fairest Beauty (a retelling of Snow White) and The Captive Maiden (a retelling of Cinderella) continue with the next generation.  

 

I enjoy all of the movies from Sherwood Pictures. They are (in most recent release order) Courageous, Fireproof, Facing the Giants, and Flywheel. Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia casts, acts, records, produces, sells, etc. all of these with members of their church!

 

 

 

October Baby is a beautiful movie. It tells the story of Hannah who finds out that not only is she adopted, she is an abortion survivor. I've talked some more about it in this blog post.
