Even if you haven't heard of Sidewalk Prophets or you have no clue what the point of this song is (yes, there is one), or even if you didn't like the song (What is wrong with you?) you should still go to the K-LOVE fan awards voting page to vote. 
Maybe you've never heard of any of these people (haha. Yeah right.), maybe you've never heard of K-LOVE, maybe you have absolutely NO clue what this whole thing is about, but you should still go vote. 

"Why?" you might ask! "Why?" you might wonder! "Why?" you might scream at the sky! (Seriously though, why would you scream at the sky...?)

Because for every 500,000 votes, a house is built to help a family in Detroit. 2,000,000 votes means that 4 houses will be built in Detroit. That means that 4 families will receive a house! But, only if they get 2,000,000 votes. Therefore, Every. Vote. Counts. 

Now, don't everybody go vote with a bunch of silly, goof-off answers! At least try to be a little serious about the whole thing!

GUESS WHAT I FOUND!!!! (There. I may have scare you out of your seat, but at least I didn't start with a boring word. Attention grabbers. That's what I'm about. No. Not really.) 

Anyways. *sigh* 

I was going about my business earlier, and I stop by to check You-Tube real quick (*snort*) and I saw a new Brandon Heath music video! But it wasn't just any Brandon Heath music video. It was Brandon Heath's Paul Brown Petty official music video. (I was so excited, I may have squealed a bit. I also may have immediately clicked to watch it, and I also may have immediately decided to share it with you all today instead of my original plan.)   

I have loved derived great pleasure from this song every since I first heard it, and I wanted to share it with you then, but to my dismay... there was no music video for it. But now! NOW there is!!! And let me tell you! If I enjoyed this song before, I enjoy it sooooo much more now! 

But, enough of me going on, and on, (and on, and on, and on, and on,) about this song. To know why I take pleasure in the song so greatly, You, My dear (reader/ friend/ follower/ acquaintance/ what-ever-one-best-fits) will have to watch and listen for yourself.

Friday Favorite // Maddie and Zoe - Let It Go

I don't know if you've seen the movie Frozen yet. I'm sure you've heard about it because for a while there (and maybe still) people of all ages are talking about it. I've seen lots, and lots, and LOTS of covers from the movie, but if I were to watch them all... It would take an extremely long time to finish them all. :)
From the few cover's I've watched though, this one has got to be the cutest. And it's so cute I had to share it with you! These two four-year-old sisters were recorded (both voice and video) by their dad. They may not have the most amazing voices, but the cuteness factor makes up for it! ;)

Sunday 1.19.14 ~ Life Is Beautiful [Sanctity of Life Part 1]

For those of you who didn't/don't know, this Sunday (the nineteenth) was Sanctity of Life Sunday
I wasn't sure what song I was going to pick for today, and was kind of jumping around You-Tube looking for something that 'spoke' to me, when I saw Life Is Beautiful by The Afters, and immediately remembered the sermon from this morning, therefore remembering that today is Sanctity of Life Sunday.

This song speaks perfectly about this subject. This term. The 'Sanctity of Life'.
 Merriam Webster defines sanctity as "The quality or state of being holy, very important, or valuable." I can't think of a better way to describe the word sanctity, especially when you are referring to life.

I plan to do another post later this week, talking further on the subject, and including a link to the pastor's sermon from earlier today. So, without further ado...

And... This is the first post of the new year!!!! WOW! 'New Year' I've gotten used to. '2014' I have not. (I actually typed 2013 first instead of 2014....)

Anywho...

This song gives me goosebumps. Whatever I do, I want to give glory to God. I want to praise Him all day long. With my actions, my words. I want people to see God when they see me, and what better for that to happen, if I'm praising (or blessing) God with my every breath and move!

A New Year

Okay. First of all, I have a disclaimer. I know this post is filled with rather random things, and my thoughts don't all flow together, but I hope you can at least understand what I'm saying. And if you can't, don't worry. It's not the first time someone hasn't understood me. ;) I hope that something I wrote stands out to you, and means something to you. Even if it is all random and lacks all hope of organization. So, without further ado, welcome to my thoughts. My ramblings. And, try to enjoy. :)

It's snowing again. Oh, snow. There's so many things that come to my mind when I thing of snow. But today, one thing is more predominant than the rest. Today is the last day of a 2013. I can't believe time has gone by so fast. Some days, it seems like it was just a few weeks ago, when I was standing with all my friends (most of them) in the yard, laughing, talking about random things, and finally, having to say goodbye. Yet, other times, in seems like it's been years since then. But, back to snow. :)
Snow. It falls, and melts. Comes, and goes away. A new year has come, and gone away. Snow goes away, but we know it will come back. The new year ends, but we know another will come.

The New Year is a time of happiness, but a time of sadness too. The New Year is exciting, yet dreadful, wonderful, yet heart-wrenching. It's hope, and dread, peace, and anguish. It's full of so many emotions and thoughts, there's no possible way to explain them all.

I'm not much for New Year's resolutions, mostly because I either fail at them, or forget them before the end of January. But, if I were into New Year's goals or resolutions, I would probably form it around the song below.  The chorus says:
"I wanna live with abandon
Give You all that I am
Every part of my heart Jesus
I place in Your hands
I wanna live with abandon"

To me, these words are so powerful. They show so much passion, and excitement, and devotion. They show peace, and humility. They show fearlessness, and trust, and a selflessness beyond what my mind can comprehend.

If I were to write a goal for this New Year, maybe it wouldn't even be the chorus of this song...

But a prayer that God would give me the strength, and trust, and selflessness to sing this song.
And truly mean
Every.
Single.
Word.

So, now, my goal is not to live with abandon. My goal is to say "I want to live with abandon." And really, truly mean it. My goal is to learn to trust God in every single way. My goal is to know that his way is the best way. Even if it goes against everything I want. My goal is to trust completely. Entirely. Unknowingly. Always.

So that I can say "I want to live with abandon. I want to give all that I can. I want to give you myself. I want to offer to do whatever you want me to do. I want to see you change my world. I want to be part of you changing the world. I want to help like you. I want to love like you. I want to shine like you."

I want to say that. But I need God's help.

It's a goal that I need God's help with. Isn't that just down right funny?! My goal is to trust God, but I need God's help with that! Doesn't that just sound confusing? But isn't it a picture of how great and powerful God is?

Anyways, I hope something I said made sense, and I wish you all a very Happy New Year!

Think of all the times someone had said something to you that brought you down to the ground. But all they said, was a bunch of words.
Think of all the times someone said something to you, that made you feel like you were several feet off the ground. All they said, was a bunch of words.
Think of all the times someone looked at you like you had just saved their life. But all you said was a bunch of words.

A picture is worth a thousand words.... But words still mean a lot.

Our words can lift others up to the highest of places. Or bring them down to the lowest of places. Our words are powerful.

This song says, "I don't want to speak a word unless it points the world back to you." While it's true, it's still so hard. (Especially this week...) ;)

But, wouldn't it be something if everything out of our mouths pointed the world back to Jesus?
