Sidewalk Prophets- Give It Up (For 7UP) [Official Video]

Yes, yes, yes. Yes! Yes! Yes!
Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness where do I start!?!?!?!?!?!

I'm starting a hash-tag people. #daveandtobyrap
YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

"Give it up for 7UP! Clean, crisp and refreshing!"

Seriously though... When Dave started rapping.... Uh-Huh!

Bowling. Sidewalk Prophets. And 7UP.  What else is there for me to say?

Even if you haven't heard of Sidewalk Prophets or you have no clue what the point of this song is (yes, there is one), or even if you didn't like the song (What is wrong with you?) you should still go to the K-LOVE fan awards voting page to vote.
Maybe you've never heard of any of these people (haha. Yeah right.), maybe you've never heard of K-LOVE, maybe you have absolutely NO clue what this whole thing is about, but you should still go vote.

"Why?" you might ask! "Why?" you might wonder! "Why?" you might scream at the sky! (Seriously though, why would you scream at the sky...?)

Because for every 500,000 votes, a house is built to help a family in Detroit. 2,000,000 votes means that 4 houses will be built in Detroit. That means that 4 families will receive a house! But, only if they get 2,000,000 votes. Therefore, Every. Vote. Counts.

Now, don't everybody go vote with a bunch of silly, goof-off answers! At least try to be a little serious about the whole thing!

But really. Go vote. And watch Sidewalk Prophets' video. And use my hash-tag.

#daveandtobyrap

And don't be surprised if you see me using my hash-tag in random places, or in posts that don't have anything to do with Dave. Or Toby. Or rap. Or 7UP.

[Warning: I did a good majority of this late at night, so if it's even more random that usual, I apologize... #daveandtobyrap]

Rebekah

Friday Favorites // Paul Brown Petty

Okay. (Okay is not the best word to start a post with, so let's try that again...)
GUESS WHAT I FOUND!!!! (There. I may have scare you out of your seat, but at least I didn't start with a boring word. Attention grabbers. That's what I'm about. No. Not really.)

Anyways. *sigh*

I was going about my business earlier, and I stop by to check You-Tube real quick (*snort*) and I saw a new Brandon Heath music video! But it wasn't just any Brandon Heath music video. It was Brandon Heath's Paul Brown Petty official music video. (I was so excited, I may have squealed a bit. I also may have immediately clicked to watch it, and I also may have immediately decided to share it with you all today instead of my original plan.)

I have loved derived great pleasure from this song every since I first heard it, and I wanted to share it with you then, but to my dismay... there was no music video for it. But now! NOW there is!!! And let me tell you! If I enjoyed this song before, I enjoy it sooooo much more now!

But, enough of me going on, and on, (and on, and on, and on, and on,) about this song. To know why I take pleasure in the song so greatly, You, My dear (reader/ friend/ follower/ acquaintance/ what-ever-one-best-fits) will have to watch and listen for yourself.

Brandon Heath - Paul Brown Petty

What did you think? Did I give the song justice? Or over exaggerate how wonderful it is?

Love,
Rebekah

The Sunshine Award // My First Blog Award!! And My Second And Third :)

Wow. I'm just not going to mention how long this took me. Not that it was hard or anything. I just have this really, really bad habit of procrastinating putting things off for an extremely long amount of time. No! It's not procrastinating! That term's so harsh.(Warning: Sarcasm level may possibly be higher than usual.) Anyways, finally, here it is. (Drum-roll please...)

I am SO excited to have been nominated for The Sunshine Award by Natalie from The Life of a Christian Homeschooled Teenager. Her blog is full of encouraging posts about living the Christian life, and homeschooling, as well as showcasing some of her stories, and posts about life. You should go check her blog out if you haven't already!

* * * * * * * * * *
Well, by the time I had finished answering the questions from Natalie, I was nominated by both Megan and Ana. Both of these ladies are close friends from back home. :) Megan's blog is full of all sorts of things! She has inspirational posts, family posts, picture posts, and so much more! Ana's blog contains some of her writings and beautiful pictures! Go check their blogs out!

* * * * * * * * * *
So, I am going to answer Natalie's questions, and then Megan's and Ana's (since they asked the same questions. Thanks for making it easier for me gals. ;) ). Then I'll name my nominees, ask them my questions, and share the rules. I hope everyone enjoys!

* * * * * * * * * *

Questions for the nominees
1. How big is your family? I am going to assume that this question is referring to my intermediate family. That being said, I live with my parents and three younger siblings.

2. Do you knit, sew, or crochet? Um... No. I do have a limited knowledge of how to sew, but don't get around to it much. :)

3. What are your favorite movies or shows? ARG!! Such a hard question!!! I could go on, and on ALL day!!!! I would have to say that some of my favorite movies are the ones done by Sherwood Pictures and the Kendrick Brothers (Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous), October Baby, and the Princess Bride. I'd probably have to add the original Muppets movie, Tangled, Frozen, and Despicable Me (1 and 2) to my list as well... Heehee! I know that there's more, they just aren't coming to mind at the moment, that's all. As for TV shows, I'd say Doctor Who, Doctor Quinn: Medicine Woman, Sherlock, and The Dick Van Dyke Show. Robin Hood BBC used to be one of my favorites, but the last episode in season 2 was a gut-wrencher, and left me with no further desire to watch any more. (I wouldn't be surprised if Steven Moffat helped write that episode...)  :(

4. What is your favorite Bible verse? I was asked this one both times, and I answered it below. :)

5. What is your favorite book? Another hard one!!! Do I have to answer with just one? You can go check out my Favorites page to see an uncompleted list.

6. Do you live in the city or the country? Where do you dream of living? Define city. (Do I have some of the lamest answers, or what!?!) Probably country, because that's pretty much all there is where I live. Okay, I'll admit it... Definitely country, we have to travel almost an hour before we get to a Wal-Mart. Or a Starbucks. And I won't mention how long it takes to get to a Chick-fil-a... As for where I dream of living.... I have no clue whatsoever.

7. Do you play sports, or do you like other activities? Do I play sports. Ha! What I do is not called 'playing a sport'. There are times that I may attempt at it, but I'm pretty sure that 90% of the time, I fail. I greatly enjoy English Country and International Folk dancing!

8. What is your favorite subject of study? I'll stick with the answer that I've used for several years. FREE READING!!!!! Science, history, writing, and even math contain things that I don't mind, and other things that either I can't stand or are really boring. For example, I enjoy creative/descriptive writing, but reports... eh. Not so much.

9. What is your favorite time period of history? After several minutes spent in deep thought, I would have to say either Medieval Times, or the Civil War. Or Colonial Times. Or World War Two. Or the Great Depression Era. Or the Roman Empire. Or the 1840's and the expansion of America. Or Egypt in the time of Pharaohs. Or.... You get where I'm going yet? I'm not into the 70's or later, but due to some AMAZING historical fiction books, I find it extremely hard to pick a favorite historic period. (No... You're joking. Right!?!)

10. What is your favorite food? Definitely depends on my mood. I think I tend to like chocolate things, and salty-cheesy things best. Or, at least that's what I most often get a craving for. ;)

11.Do you have any pets? What is a wild animal you would like as a pet if it were possible (for example, an elephant or deer)? No pets. At one point in time, we had a pet named Tom. He was adorable. He spent his days on the ceiling of our dining room watching us go about our various activities. He was the best little eight-legged friend I ever had. Till Mom got tired of seeing him one day, and 'accidentally' vacuumed him up. (sniff) I'm glad I'm too big to fit in the vacuum! Haha. In reality though,  ever since then, we've been skeptical when Mom says yes to us getting a pet. ( I'm being totally sarcastic here! Maybe..)

As for a wild animal pet, I don't know. I haven't thought about it much. Maybe a raccoon. But that makes me think of a really sad movie, so now I'm going to go cry. (The movie shall go unnamed because i don't remember what is was. If you have any clue as to what it's called, comment and let me know!)

* * * * * * * * * *
And, now for my answers to the questions from Megan and Ana!

1. What is your favorite Bible verse?
I would probably have to say either 1 Corinthians 13:1-8/9 or Galatians 5:22-23

2. Would you sacrifice your life if it would save a life of a stranger?
Yes.

3. Given the chance to swim with dolphins.. would you accept?
Probably. I don't know if I would accept if I had to pay, or go a long way out of my way to have that experience... But now that I think about it more, it would be an amazing experience that I would never forget, so maybe I would. (The movie Dolphin Tale is now playing through my head. In that case, yes. I would accept.)

4. Are you more fascinated with light or darkness?
Because I'm so legalistic about certain things (perhaps the correct wording would be 'I am OCD about certain things') I looked up the meaning of fascinate.

  • Captivate: to hold somebody's attention completely or irresistibly
  • Immobilize somebody or something: to make somebody or something unable to move, especially out of fear
  • These two definitions are rather strange don't you think? The first one makes me think that fascinate is a good thing, but the second one... Let's just say it doesn't quite ring the same bell.
That all being said, I think I'm more fascinated with light. That's a question I could think upon for hours..

    5. Can you speak in a different accent?
I try. Sometimes I succeed. Sometimes... eh. Not so much. I find that after watching a British show, I can talk with a very good British accent, but sometimes my accent bounces around between Irish, Scottish, and English.

    6. Would you rather be disliked or forgotten?
I would rather be disliked. I'd rather have people be annoyed/upset/angry at my presence than have no one remember me. Besides, I would get tired of having to introduce myself to the same people over, and over, and over again.

    7. Has the ocean ever filled your dreams?
I don't think so. I've never had a dream with an ocean in it, if that's what you're asking, which I think you are. Once, after we had been to the beach, I was lying in bed almost asleep, and I felt as if my bed was rocking to the rhythm of the waves, but I don't think I was asleep yet at that point.

    8. Assuming you have one, how often is your journal put to use?
I recently started a journal that I use on a periodic basis. Sometimes, I use it several nights in a row, sometimes it's a few weeks before I pick it up again.

    9. What is your favorite fictional character of all time?
Of all time! That's such a HARD question!!!
Some of my favorite fictional characters are (see what I did there!)...
Christy ~ Christy Miller Series and Christy and Todd: The Collage Years by Robin Jones Gunn
May Amelia ~ Our Only May Amelia by Jennifer L. Holm
Sherlock ~ BBC's Sherlock (How can you not like him! His quick wit and observations are just priceless!)
I'm sure there are several others, but that's all I can think of right now. :)

    10. What is your favorite hymn?
Amazing Grace, The Battle Belongs to the Lord, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, He Lives, and O Holy Night, just to name a few.
    * * * * * * * * * *

Well, this was probably the hardest part of the whole post. Mostly because all the people who I was going to nominate have already been nominated. (For example, Ana and Megan. (: )

So, I'm going to switch this rule around for my sake and give a list of people who I am unofficially nominating. For those of you who have been esteemed to this high level of honor, it is entirely up to you whether or not you chose to participate. (Technically it's your choice whether the nomination is official or unofficial, but... please love me and give me some grace and let me word it whatever way I so chose to word it. )

And without further ado, I unofficially nominate the following awesome people:

All of these people have wonderful, amazing blogs, and you should check them all out. :)

    * * * * * * * * * *
    Here are my questions:
    1. Have you ever had any broken bones or stitches? If so, when and why?
    2. What are your top three favorite genres of books to read?
    3. What is your least favorite book genre to read?
    4. What are your top three favorite genres of music to listen to?
    5. What is your  least favorite music genre?
    6. Do you prefer to watch a movie or a TV show?
    7. Do you play a musical instrument? If so, what instrument(s) do you play? If not, what instrument would you/do you want to play?
    8. What did you want to be when you were younger? Is that aspiration still the same today?
    9. What are you most likely to be found wearing on any given day?
    10. What would you say are your best talents or skills? (ie: singing, art, a sport, etc.)
    11. I'm not sure how to ask this question... Is picking a favorite something an easy task for you? Does it come naturally? Can you pick a favorite easily? Answer whatever question makes the most sense to you. :)
    * * * * * * * * * *
I think in getting passed around by so many people, the rules kind of got changed, so I'm going to tell you the rules twice.
First, the way I got them from Natalie by way of the Calico Sisters.
If you are chosen and want to participate:
    1. Copy and paste the image above or create your own.
    2. Answer the following questions.
    3. Nominate your own bloggers (as many as you choose).
    4. Let your nominees know.
    5. Put together 11 of your own questions to ask them.
    6. Publish your post!
And, the rules that I got from Megan and Ana.
    1. Thanks the blogger who nominated you and link to their blog.
    2. Nominate other bloggers and let them know on their blogs.
    3. Answer the list of 10 questions.
    4. The Sunshine Award must be posted on your blog.

Isn't it so funny how, as things get passed around, they change! It reminds me of the whisper game. You know, the game where everybody sits in a circle, and they have to whisper a sentence into the next person's ear till it goes the whole way around.

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed reading, and I can't wait to see what the nominees' answers are!
Once again, to those who nominated me, I'm so sorry for taking way to long to finish this, and thank-you so much for nominating me in the first place!
Also, if you'd like me to answer the questions for me nominees, let me know in the comments!

    Love,
    Rebekah

Tuesday Tresses // Half French Braid into Ponytail

To do this hairstyle, I soft parted (as opposed to a harsh part where you can see the part line) my hair diagonally from my front left, to my back right. Then I french braided the back half and pulled the front half into it to make a ponytail. (Hope that all makes sense...)

At some point throughout the day, I got tired of all that hair flying around next to my face and neck and such, so I braided the ponytail.

    Side view with the braid.

^ That's definitely NOT the best picture, but it's the only other one that I had of the back. :)

^ Something weird is going on with that picture, but I have no clue what.. *shrugs shoulders*

Before when I would take pictures of my hair, I would have the hardest time figuring out where to hold the camera, how to balance the flash with the mirror, etc., etc., etc. (Don't know why, but 'etc.' should always be said in threes...) When I was taking these, I got the brilliant idea to put my camera in timer mode (or what ever you call it), and place it on one of the shelves in the medicine cabinet. (Do I hear anybody say, "Light bulb." )

    Anyways...
Do you think I post too many pictures of the hair styles? Not enough pictures of them?
I hope you all enjoyed! Leave a comment if you know what movie I quoted from!

    Love,
    Rebekah

Friday Favorite // Maddie and Zoe - Let It Go

I don't know if you've seen the movie Frozen yet. I'm sure you've heard about it because for a while there (and maybe still) people of all ages are talking about it. I've seen lots, and lots, and LOTS of covers from the movie, but if I were to watch them all... It would take an extremely long time to finish them all. :)
From the few cover's I've watched though, this one has got to be the cutest. And it's so cute I had to share it with you! These two four-year-old sisters were recorded (both voice and video) by their dad. They may not have the most amazing voices, but the cuteness factor makes up for it! ;)

Have you watched Frozen? What did you think?

    Awkward and Awesome

I decided to do an awkward and awesome post! Enjoy!

Awesome: Waking up to the call (and smell) of hot pancakes! On a weekday too!!!

Awkward: Going to sleep, and after having a rather creepy thought, the extremely strong wind howls and sounds like thunder... That was slightly scary.

Awesome: Watching Dad give a bunch of little girls instructions about tea parties. He was telling them to crook their pinkies! It was so funny!!!

Awkward: I went to look for a new pair of glasses. I hand the lady my prescription, she glances at it and exclaims, "So, basically, you have one eye that's really bad, and one that's not really bad at all." Gee, thanks. Doesn't everybody want to hear that! (I'm being sarcastic here...)  'You have one eye that's really bad.'

Awkward: Later, after Mom said something about getting new glasses for herself, the lady asked Mom, "Do you have bifocals yet?" ...Wow. Need I say more....

Awesome: Going to a birds of prey presentation, and learning all sorts of cool things!

Awkward: Having one of the said birds do it's 'business' less than a yard away from me.

Awesome: When the guy giving the presentation mention Despicable Me, by referring to one of the birds.. "It's so fluffy!!!!!!"

Awkward: Well..... How do I put this.. Apparently, the water bottle that I pulled out of the fridge at church had a hole in the bottom of it... I found this out after it had leaked all over Dad's sermon notes, and after worship had started, leading me to turn around and walk off the stage (right after walking onto it..), grab my dripping water bottle, and carry it away, during the first song of worship.

Awesome: Going to watch a five year old, and being told within the first 5 minutes, that I was the 'best babysitter ever.' (heart melts)

Awesome: Then being told later in the week by his grandfather, that apparently I had a new friend, because the little boy wouldn't stop talking about me after I left! (any bit of my heart that's left, melts)

Awesome: Getting to spend a whole week with my Grandma and Aunt!!!! First time we've seen family since we've moved!

Awkward: Driving in the car with my aunt who was in a really friendly mood, and decided to wave to every person and car that passed... It was awkward, but funny too. Love you!!!

Awkward: Watching my afore-mentioned aunt skip along the sidewalk to the car. (By the way... I may have possibly skipped along with her at a later time during the day. Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't.)

    Awesome: Getting my drivers license!!!

Awkward: People asking me if I've driven anywhere by myself yet, and having to answer, "No." Because I'm not added to the insurance yet. :)

Awesome: Little Sis lying behind me with her arms wrapped around my waist. And then seeing her wonderful, huge, gorgeous, smile after she read the first sentence. ;) Love you!

Awkward: Realizing that Little Sis is wearing socks that I remember wearing a few years ago....

Awesome: Seeing prairie dogs for the first time!!!! They. Are. So. Cute!!!!!!

Awesome: Getting a bunch of jobs/job offers! Some of which are once (for example, babysitting)  and others are/will be on going!

Awesome: Reading a book to the girls at Bible study, and as soon as I finished the chapter, they all look up at me, "READ MORE!"

Awkward: Having a sore throat while reading the afore-mentioned book to the afore-mentioned girls, therefore having to stop, because I couldn't keep talking! :( Okay, not so much awkward as painful...

Tuesday Tresses // Bun with Bandana Headband

Okay, for some reason I can't get that picture to sit in the center, but I'm a tad bit too tired to care at the moment. (slight sarcasm there...) Be forewarned: I'm writing this post WAY too late at night. Need I say more? No. Absolutely not. If I were to say more on that subject, it might possibly  would be disastrous. (That is, if it isn't already..)

This hairstyle originally started as a bun, but since we were having company that evening, I wanted to do something to spruce up my basic bun. So... I grabbed one of my nifty bandanas (Oh, the endless list of things you can do with those!!!), folded it, and tied it around my head.

To do my bun, I just made a ponytail, twisted it around, and into a bun, and slid a couple bobby pins in! Easy-peasy. (Refer back to warning!)

Needless to say, I was happy (and possibly slightly proud) with the way it turned out. I think I also used a few bobby pins to hold the bandana in place, just to make sure it didn't slip, and also to make it sit better on my head.

                                  Side view.                                                                    Back view.
I figured out how to sit two pictures next to each other!!!! Now the trick is for me to remember how to do it next time... ;)

    Hope you enjoyed!

    Rebekah

Friday Favorites // Virtue Makes You Beautiful

I smile every single time I watch this.

A bunch of teenage guys, and one of their teachers got together and did a parody of a song (that I think was originally done by One ... can't say it. I just can't bring myself to say it.) If you know the original song, leave it in the comments!

Anywho, this version of the song is WAY better!!!

    Virtue Makes You Beautiful

    Isn't it awesome!

Also, I did some playing around with the look of my blog. I found out how to add buttons! If there's a button you think I should add, let me know! I may or may not, but I'll at least take it into consideration. ;) I also found out how to add the little thing with the checks at the bottom of my posts! (If you know what that's called, give yourself a pat on the back. :) )  Let me know what you think!

What was your favorite part of the video?

Friday Favorites // Wake Up & Smell The Bacon

I don't know if you've heard of this. I don't know if you've seen it. I don't know if you like it. I don't know if you care. But, I thought it was worth sharing. If not for coolness, for weirdness, and if not for tastiness, for bacon.

    What else can I say!?!?!

So, here's an advertisement for the new Oscar Mayer app called 'Wake Up and Smell the Bacon.' From what I understand, it's an app that is amazing in itself, but there's so much more than the app. You can apply for a device that plugs into your ear-phone jack. This device, when your alarm goes off, releases the aroma of... Bacon.

You can check out their website to find out how to apply, and for more bacon-ey goodness here.

So, ladies and gents, with out further ado, here's Oscar Mayer's Wake Up and Smell the Bacon advertisement.

What do you think? Do you think this is really cool? Extremely dumb? Absolutely ridiculous? Entirely random? Oh, ho, ho! You want random! I'll give you random! (WARNING: It's rather late, and I'm tired, so I have NO clue what's about to happen, and I'm not into hitting the delete button...)

^ Oh! I would LOVE one of those!!!

^ Need I say anymore? There is no such thing as 'too much bacon.'

^ We were actually watching a movie a few weeks ago, and they showed a scene with a sunset, and.... all I saw was bacon. (Please refer back to the warning...)

Well, I hope none of that was too random, and that you enjoyed some of it!

Tuesday Tresses // Braids Into Braided Bun

A braided bun is one of the easiest hair styles to do. It takes a small amount of skill, and looks amazing! You can give it an elegant, sophisticated look, or you can make it very loose and messy. You can do it simply, or fancily (That's not a word is it...). You can do so many different variations, it might just make your head hurt. ;)

I decided to dress it up a bit, and I added two braids in the front going into my bun. To do the bun, ponytail, braid, ponytail, wrap, and pin. (like I said, easy peasy porridge pie.) (Okay. Never using that phrase again...)

     ^Side view.

    ^ Other side/back.

I think I did the bun, and then wrapped the braids around the bun. You could also put the braids into the ponytail and then make the big bun.

I think the 'Tuesday Tresses' aren't going to be every week. They'll still be on Tuesdays, but not every week. ;)

    Hope you enjoyed!

    Sunday 3.9.14 10,000 Reasons

10,000 reasons. Wow! That's a lot, isn't it. Yet, the number of reasons that we have to praise God, far surpasses 10,000.

    10,000 Reasons ~ Matt Redman

[Chorus] Bless the Lord, O my soul
    O my soul
    Worship His holy name
    Sing like never before
    O my soul
    I'll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

    [Chorus]

You're rich in love, and You're slow to anger
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

    [Chorus]

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

    [Chorus 2x]

I love greatly enjoy this heart-wrenching reminder of love. Maybe the reminder appeals to me because I'm an older sibling, and I know that I've told my younger siblings no to something before. Only because I've wanted to something for myself. (You will understand why I said what I said after you watch the video.) :)

Have any of you heard of Jostie Flicks before? I discovered them on You-Tube several weeks ago, and extremely enjoy their videos! If you haven't heard of them before, you should go check them out! (And, contrary to this video, most of their productions are funny.)

Sunday 3.2.14 You Love Me Anyway

Yes. Lord, this is what we praise you for. I am the worst of sinners, but YOU love me anyway. No matter what I do, or think, or say; you still love me.

Friday Favorite / Messed Up Time

So... A 'Friday Favorite' on a Saturday!?!?! 'Messed Up Time'.. You think! Maybe just a little!!!

Yeah.. sorry about that. We had a swim meet to go to, so I was 2 hours away, and my computer was at home... :( It's so sad, isn't it... *sniff*

Well, since we're on the topic of time (or at least we kind of were....) Here's a great reminder that on March 9th, we SPRING ahead! I certainly will like the fact that it's lighter longer, but having to get up on a Sunday after losing an hour of sleep.... Let's just say that that's always a hard morning, no matter what year it is. :)

    Anyways, without further ado...

Friday Favorite // Jamie Grace - White Boots

So, I have the Sunday series, the Tuesday Tresses, and Friday Favorites.

Friday Favorites may contain movie/book recommendations, music videos, other videos, random pictures, a website, etc. Something that's been my favorite that week or day. :) Hope you enjoy!

This week's Friday Favorite is an absolutely amazing song! The message of this song always makes me smile so, so much. (or big, or... whatever the right word is there..) Jamie Grace is a talented artist, who recently released her second album! Her newest album 'Ready to Fly' contains this song. So, without any further ado...

    Tuesday Tresses

Okay, it took me absolutely forever to decide what to call these posts!!! (How come no day of the week begins with an 'h'!) Anywho, I'm basically just going to post a few pictures of the finished hair style, and give a brief description (Haha! Am I capable of that?) of how I did it. So... that being said..

Basically, all I did was French Pigtails (two French Braids), loosely knotted the two together, and pinned them up in the back.

As you can see from the above picture, we had LOTS of snow outside!!!

And you can see all my mess in this one..... *gives an embarrassed smile, then shrugs shoulders*

I hope you all enjoyed! Do you have any suggestions or ideas for these 'Tuesday Tresses' posts?

Is this hair style something you would do to your hair? (Okay guys, obviously that question wasn't meant for you... This one is though.. Do you think the 'Tuesday Tresses' are going to get annoying? Or do you not mind?)

Hopefully I'll have some picture/family posts up soon!

    Love,

    Sunday 2.16.14 Broken Hallelujah

    Definition of HALLELUJAH

—used to express praise, joy, or thanks

Hallelujahs come in so many different ways and forms. Think of the ways that we express our Hallelujahs to the King.

    Blog thoughts

I 've been thinking about the question I asked you all in my last blog post. Here's what I decided and why.

I decided not to start a new blog. My blog title is 'Friends, Family, (and) Fun Forever'. I thought through and decided what to do about certain subjects/ideas/activities.
    • Pictures ~ Pictures show what my family (and friends) and I have been having fun doing! Therefore, pictures are good.
    • Music ~ Who doesn't have fun listening to music! It's fun, therefore it counts! Also, if I don't post a song that's 'fun', it should glorify God, therefore, I'm going to count it. :)
    • Hair ~ I've thought about this one a lot this week too. I enjoy doing my hair (and my sisters' hair), therefore, it's fun. I haven't shared any hair pictures in the past, but I have several to share. For the reason stated above, I've decided to start sharing some hair pictures. (Oh la la!)
    • Writing ~ I have shared some of my writing before. I have decided that I have two reasons for doing so. Number one, I have fun doing it, and number two, it's a blog. Blogs are for writing. Need I say anymore on that topic? I think not.
I think that's about all that I've done in the past/ thought about doing.

A note about music, I originally started the Sunday series for sharing worship songs. All the songs that I've shared have been Christian, and glorify God, but I feel that some of them haven't been technically worshiping. Rephrasing.. they glorify God, and therefore are worshipful, but aren't necessarily worshiping.

That being said, I am going to try to do a better job about making sure the songs I share on Sunday are worshiping God. Also, I am going to start a new series to share songs that still glorify God, but are either more on the fun side, or have messages that are meant more as a reminder to us.

I hope that all makes sense... :) If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to comment below! Tell me what your thoughts are!

    Rebekah

    Questions, Thoughts, Ramblings...

    Or, What-ever-else-you-want-to-call-this. :)

Okay, I've been thinking for a while about starting a new blog. I originally started this blog to share what my family's been doing. (Pictures, activities, etc.) But, take a look around. The majority of my posts are about music and different songs. And, on one hand, it seems sort of silly to start a new blog with just a bunch of posts on music videos, and what I think about the song. On the other hand, it sounds organized and makes me feel like I'm using things for their original purposes. (Using the blog that I started for pictures, for pictures, and using the blog that I started for music, for music.)

I'm still thinking through things, and thoughts are scattered around in my brain, but I'd like to get your input before I make a final decision. Do you care if the blog started for the purpose of sharing pictures and stories has a bunch of posts that contain NO pictures or stories? Or do you not care at all whether this blog has pictures, or videos, or stories, or poems, or.... (what else is there...) on it?

Let me know what you think! PLEASE!!! Yes, it's my blog, put your input is important to me. :)

    Thanks!

    Love,
    Rebekah

    Sunday 2.2.14 Shake The World

"When the sons and daughters start singing this song,
Then everybody all around 'em will be singing along,
It's gonna shake the world. It's gonna shake the world!
When we all start marching to the beat of the drum,
Moving to the rhythm of the Kingdom to come,
It's gonna shake the world, It's gonna shake, shake, shake the world!"

Can you imagine the world shaking. If everybody would sing this song, would let the light of Jesus shine through, the world would "shake, shake, shake."  This song just fills me with joy. The beat, the words, the passion. The imagination this song brings to mind. I'm smiling just thinking about this song. :)

    Sunday 1.26.14 Banner of Love

"This love is a burning flame, one voice calling out Your name.."

Love from God is the most powerful thing on the face of planet earth. It gives the power to forgive. It gives the power to self control. It gives the power to sacrifice. This love is our banner. It's the flag that we fly to show people who we are and what we stand for. It's the flag that pulls people of every color, and nation, and tribe, and tongue together. It is what we stand for. It's the flag that we raise. It's the banner we fly.

Sunday's Sermon [Sanctity of Life Part 4]

Well, the reason I started this impromptu series was because of Sunday's sermon which I am just now getting to! :)
I was going to post pictures of the people mentioned in the sermon, but I don't remember all of them and I feel bad having pictures of some of them and not all. So, without further to do...

Here's the link to the sermon from 1.19.14!

It was a really powerful message. Since it was Sanctity of Life Sunday, the pastor talked about abortion, but also the fact that life is sacred no matter what the situation is. (Racism, abuse, disabilities, etc.)  If you have some time, I would strongly encourage you to listen.

Animal babies and a very clear point! [Sanctity of Life Part 3]

The other day, my mom showed me this link.
It's pictures of unborn baby animals. These pictures are SO COOL! Peter Chinn 'created' them. They're a mix of photos, ultrasounds, and a bit of computer graphics to bring it all together. So, while they're not exact photos, they show the real thing. If you read the article the whole way to the bottom, you'll understand why I included it in the Sanctity of Life posts. :)

October Baby [Sanctity of Life Part 2]

Well, I decided to so more than two 'Sanctity of Life' posts, just because. :)

You may have noticed that in the video yesterday, there were some scenes from a movie. You also may have noticed that at the end of the video, the words "October Baby" were shown. That was because the movie clips were from a movie called October Baby.

October Baby is a beautiful movie that tells the story of Hannah. A 19 year old who finds out that not only is she adopted, she is an abortion survivor. The movie tells of her journey to find relief from emotional pain, her journey to find her birth mom, and her journey to learn forgiveness. If you haven't watched it, I would highly recommend it.

I would also recommend going to www.everylifeisbeautiful.com. A site which (I believe) the writer/directors founded. It has several videos from a variety of people (actors in the movie, Christian music artists, abortion survivors) telling why they believe that 'every life is beautiful.'

Sunday 1.19.14 ~ Life Is Beautiful [Sanctity of Life Part 1]

For those of you who didn't/don't know, this Sunday (the nineteenth) was Sanctity of Life Sunday
I wasn't sure what song I was going to pick for today, and was kind of jumping around You-Tube looking for something that 'spoke' to me, when I saw Life Is Beautiful by The Afters, and immediately remembered the sermon from this morning, therefore remembering that today is Sanctity of Life Sunday.

This song speaks perfectly about this subject. This term. The 'Sanctity of Life'.
Merriam Webster defines sanctity as "The quality or state of being holy, very important, or valuable." I can't think of a better way to describe the word sanctity, especially when you are referring to life.

I plan to do another post later this week, talking further on the subject, and including a link to the pastor's sermon from earlier today. So, without further ado...

A great reminder, that whatever we are going through, and however bad we feel, with God, we will never be losing.

    Sunday 1.5.14 10,000 Reasons

And... This is the first post of the new year!!!! WOW! 'New Year' I've gotten used to. '2014' I have not. (I actually typed 2013 first instead of 2014....)

    Anywho...

This song gives me goosebumps. Whatever I do, I want to give glory to God. I want to praise Him all day long. With my actions, my words. I want people to see God when they see me, and what better for that to happen, if I'm praising (or blessing) God with my every breath and move!

    Chorus:
Bless the Lord, O my soul
    O my soul
    Worship His holy name
    Sing like never before
    O my soul
    I worship Your holy name

The sun comes up; it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

     Chorus

You're rich in love and You're slow to anger
Your name is great and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing
10,000 reasons for my heart to find

     Chorus

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
10,000 years and then forever more

     Chorus (2x)
    I worship Your holy name
    I worship Your holy name

    Sing like never before
    O my soul
    I worship Your holy name
    I worship Your holy name
    I worship Your holy name
